The Art of Grief is a sanctuary for those navigating the complexities of grief. Our holistic approach combines artistic modalities with emotional support to guide individuals through a healing experience. Through creativity and compassion, we provide a safe space for expression, growth, and healing.

The founder and Lead Artist, Michael Glownia lost his daughter Erika Rose and her partner Brian Mills to fentanyl poisoning in August of 2023. “To help get myself out of my depression, anxiety, sleeplessness and all the other challenges of a sudden, unexpected and complicated loss I returned to the arts: poetry, songwriting, collage, memorials in nature, etc.

I started to feel a little joy, energy and purpose in my life again. Grieving can be intense, difficult and scary. Doing it alone makes it even worse. Many other cultures grieve in community together. I want to offer this space for anyone experiencing any grief to come and explore art and our emotions together."

Michael has started a new 501c3 called EF5: Erika's Father, Family & Friends Fighting Fentanyl. Our goals are to help support families effected by a fentanyl loss and assist in ending the fentanyl epidemic.
